Cole's Woods Archive

The following collection of articles on Cole’s Woods, includes Post Star articles on the races that took place in Cole's Woods in the early 1970's.  We have also included a column written by long-time Post Star reporter, columnist, writer, and ski-tour publicist Don Metivier on the 1973 race, plus a magazine article on night skiing in Cole’s Woods, published in Skiing Magazine in 1979.

Finally, there is a history of the Cole’s Woods ski trails excerpted from a circa 1985 speech Tom Jacobs gave at a planning meeting, highlighting the inception of the lighted ski trails, as well as the need to expand the trails here (and internationally) to accommodate the “new” skate skiing technique.

We wish to thank Bill Parks for providing us with this material.
